"Your inner knowing is your only true compass." – Joy Page
“Have you ever found yourself at the edge of a doorway? Knowing that once you cross the threshold your life will be, inexplicably changed for the better?
You carry with you the knowledge that there is no other path for you. That your entire life has led you to this exact place, at this precise time and the only way forward is through the transformation that new experience brings.
And I stand in that place again. On the verge of new depths. New healing. New exploration.”
I wrote these words down within the pages of my journal, one year ago, as I sat outside an office complex awaiting the start of a new adventure.
It was the first day of an intensive psychic mentorship program that I was profoundly drawn to.
I had this overwhelming feeling that I was meant to be there.
Imagine that your life has been spent navigating a deep, thick forest.
There are times when you’re able to clearly follow a game trail. Other times you have to stumble through bushes and brambles, in order to find your way.
As you push through that thick shrubbery, you sweep aside a low hanging branch. And before you, lay not a faint game trail….but a clearly defined road.
As soon as you see it, your heart is filled with excitement, wonder, anticipation and just a tiny bit of trepidation.
You feel an overwhelming urge to walk its path.
To find out, not only what lies at the end of this newly found road…but to find out how it will transform you.
Standing outside the door of my mentors office, felt very much like that.
That road took me to so many incredible places. It was my catalyst for inner change, for exponential growth…and also for the healing of some very deep wounds.
Most importantly, that road offered me the tools that I needed in order to create a solid foundation to move forward from.
You know that old saying, “hindsight is 20/20”….looking back now, I can see how the last year unfolded.
My vision as I look back is sharp and clear and I can see the lessons I moved through and the treasured pieces of experience, knowledge and understanding that I collected from them.
This week, I would like you to do the same.
Think back, to where you were in March of last year. If you keep a journal, read through your entries from that month.
As you reflect on that time of your life, ask yourself the following questions:
Where was I?
What was I moving through?
What were the obstacles that I had to face?
How did I handle those situations?
What did I take from them?
What did I learn?
Do this for all areas of your life; personal growth, family, relationships and career.
What were the treasured lessons that you collected from that time?
The most important thing that I learned from my mentor had nothing to do with the technical aspects of how to use my gifts.
She taught me how to stand fully in my own special uniqueness…how to not only accept, but to embrace myself and ultimately, how to share that acceptance with others.
Now, twelve months down that road…it’s time to bring those pieces together into the present once more.
It’s time to utilize the lessons that we’ve learned.
To bring their essence to the forefront of our awareness.
And to fully embody them.
In the New Moon article from earlier this month, I talked about how we’re in a place where our options for expansion are unlimited.
Instead of just charging forward, take the time to acknowledge the lessons and gifts received.
Use them as your compass as you find the starting point of your own creation energy for this year.
Take a moment to express gratitude for where you’ve been and also for where you’re about to be.
